The Southwind - Monterey Depot’ Dining Car![]()

Today we celebrated the grand opening of The Southwind - Monterey Depot's Dining Car, a fully restored 1940s Santa Fe dining car now open for private parties and gatherings in the heart of Monterey. This one-of-a-kind venue seats up to 50 guests and brings a piece of rail history back to life, offering a charming and memorable setting for community events. The project was made possible through the generous support of J&S Construction Company and is located just behind Monterey’s newest ice cream parlor, The Tennessee Central Soda Shop. Keep an eye out for updates on community events such as movies in the dining car, “Snacks on the Tracks” food truck days, and more! ![]()

She now owns multiple businesses in the Upper Cumberland. She also serves on the Chamber Board and is a friend and leader in the community. Amber will tell you her greatest joy is spending time with her husband, their four kids, six grandbabies, and a snuggly cavapoo pup.![]()
